Park in our lot

We are at 643 Denver St, half a mile north of downtown, next door to Bonsai Brewing. The lot is ours — no meters, no two-hour limit, no permit needed.

Bike parking is under the covered patio on the south side.

Come in the main entrance

The main door is on the south side under the red columns. It is unlocked Monday to Friday, 7:00 am to 5:00 pm, and you can walk straight in — there is no reception desk to check in at.

In rain or snow, the west and south entrances have mats — please use those and wipe your feet, especially if you have a dog with you.

The exterior doors lock at 5:00 pm on weekdays and stay locked all weekend. Interior doors run on until 7:00 pm, so you can keep working past five, but you cannot get back IN after five without a digital key on your phone. Find your office

Both executive offices are upstairs on Level 02, up the stairs or the elevator. Your welcome email and the portal name which one is yours — Executive Office 1 or Executive Office 2. Find it on the plan below to see exactly where it sits.

EO-1 runs along the west wall and is the largest room at Basecamp; EO-2 is the corner room on the east side. Both come furnished, both have a 32-inch 4K monitor at the desk and a locking file cabinet, and both are yours around the clock.

Both are upstairs, and the upstairs offices have no lock on the door itself. What locks is the Level 02 floor door, which secures the whole floor overnight and at weekends. The locking file cabinet is the place for anything you would rather have properly shut away.

Your key is a digital one on your phone, and issuing it is a manual step on our end. Sort it in your first week rather than at 6:00 am on the day you need it.

Your rate covers a team size rather than a desk. Executive Office 1 is priced for four people and Executive Office 2 for two; anyone beyond that is $150 a month each. Tell us in Slack before a new teammate starts and we will add them to your account and get them a key.

Get on the wifi

The network is “Basecamp”. The password is in your welcome email — we deliberately do not publish it on a public page.

Private offices also have wired ethernet. There is over a mile of CAT-6 in the walls, and a wired connection is noticeably steadier for long video calls or big uploads.

Sign in to the member portal

Your welcome email has your sign-in link. The portal is where you book the conference room, see invoices and receipts, update your payment method, and request changes to your membership. Phone booths need no booking — take whichever is free.

Take two minutes to fill out your profile while you are there — it is how other members know who you are.

Join the Slack

Nearly everything operational happens in Slack. Wifi changes, building notices, and the occasional get-together go in #members; events, services and general chat go in #general.

It is also the fastest way to reach us, and the place to flag anything that needs fixing.

Booking a room

Six phone booths — four on Level 01, two upstairs — are free to all members and do not require a booking. Keep it to about thirty minutes so they stay available, and use them for calls rather than as a quiet desk.

The Executive Conference Room upstairs seats ten. The Level 01 meeting room is much smaller — two people, three at a squeeze — so take anything larger upstairs. Both are booked in the member portal, and the iPad by each door shows the day’s reservations — green means free, red means reserved.

The meeting room and the phone booths are free to you. The Executive Conference Room includes an hour a month, and after that members pay $50 an hour rather than the $100 guests pay.

Coffee, the kitchen, and the rest

Pour-over coffee and tea are free. The espresso machine is one-touch — put your mug under the spout before you choose. Brewing notes for the Chemex are on the counter.

Reset the kitchen before you go back to your desk: rinse your dishes and load one of the two dishwashers. Nothing gets left in the sink and nothing gets left to soak — one dish reads as permission and by the afternoon there are six. The exception is when both dishwashers say Clean, in which case leave it and we will empty them. Fridge and pantry space is included with every membership — label your food, and do not eat anyone else’s.

Printing, scanning and copying are onsite at member rates. Ask in Slack if you need help getting set up.

The etiquette that actually matters

Keep your phone voice at a normal level and take longer calls to a booth — it is the single thing that makes an open floor workable.

Headphones for anything with audio. Go easy on strong scents; several members are sensitive to them. Leave the space a little better than you found it.
